MAC Cosmetics To The Beach Collection Summer 2010 Images Pictures Swatches

MAC’s To The Beach collection is filled with the sort of items you might expect to find in a summer collection – bronzes and bright colors that look great against tanned skin. Most of us find that the colors we’ve been wearing all winter just don’t look right once we start spending more time outdoors in the summer. MAC comes to the rescue once again with great selections in eye shadow, lipstick, and bronzers.

Everything in this collection features special beach-themed packaging. At first the green eyeshadow pots with white seashells outlined on the front are a bit jarring and almost look like they are not even from MAC. But these cases and the similar green blush compacts with their starfish design actually do have their charm. In fact, it’s fun to pull these out when you’re putting on your makeup and it also makes it easier to find the new summer shades among the sea of black shadow pots you probably have swimming in your makeup drawer. The Sweet & Punch shadow is a fun color that reminds me of key limes. It’s a festive shade perfect for an outdoor lunch or lounging on a boat.

The lipsticks here are perfectly suited to the theme if a bit predictable and boring. Lazy Day is the requisite blue-based pink that only the tannest among us can pull off. Beach Bound is a frosty peach shade that is great if you’re going for a nude lip look, especially if you pair it with the sparkly peach Flurry of Fun Lipglass also in this collection. The lipsticks come in orange tubes with white conch shells and the Lipglasses have orange caps emblazoned with seahorses.

Lustre Drops make a reappearance here from the Style Warrior collection. This is a multi-purpose liquid highlighter that helps you achieve a sun-kissed look. The golden bronze Sun Rush Lustre Drops are the perfect complement to a tan while the Pink Rebel Lustre Drops help give paler skin a fresh glow. Dot on with your fingers or blend into foundation or cream blush for a pearly glow. Scorcher Nail Lacquer could very well be one of the best Nail Lacquers MAC Cosmetics has ever released. It’s the perfect coral shade to paint on your toes for the beach but bright enough that you will want to confine its use only to the summertime.

The Marine Life High-Light Powder is a pressed powder highlighter that uses shades of pink, peach, bronze, and brown to transform the surface of the powder into a work of art depicting a seahorse swimming in the ocean. The design is so beautiful that you almost don’t want to use it but the powder gives such a nice glow that you don’t feel too bad about disturbing the scene.

MAC: Too Fabulous Collection

MAC Cosmetics Too Fabulous Collection

Lips and cheeks get the pretty young thing treatment. Cremesheen Glass makes its comeback with six exciting new shades and three requested bring-backs! Add Mineralize Blush duos and Lip Pencils to delight and define. All Too Fabulous!

Too Fabulous is a collection of lip and cheek colors that makes its debut just in time for spring. The headline here is the comeback of Cremesheen Glass. These are creamy and sheer glosses that do not leave your lips feeling sticky. The nine shades that are coming out with Too Fabulous will form part of the permanent collection so you will have plenty of time to try all of them. These are great for girls with drier lips because the formula is very moisturizing, unlike many other glosses that look shiny yet somehow manage to dry out your lips.

In addition to some familiar Cremesheen colors such as Boy Bait, Partial to Pink, and Fashion Scoop, six new shades are entering the fray. Richer, Lusher is a pretty coral that is on the peach side that can help tone down lipsticks that are just a bit too dark or bright. Double Dare is also part of the coral family, but this darker red can stand on its own. Boy Bait is a must-have for neutral lips who want to enjoy the consistency of Cremesheen without adding too much color.

Cremesheens are very sheer so most of us will want to pair them with lip liner. In anticipation of this, those clever MAC marketers have also come out with lip pencils to accompany the glosses. MAC aficionados will already be familiar with the brown Chestnut liner, but there are also five new limited edition shades that will send us scrambling to our counters to stock up. Naked is truly bare, a skin color that is ideal for neutralizing very pigmented lips. Boldy Bare is a versatile neutral mauve color that would work well with olive skin tones under any sort of pink, brown, or berry lip colors.

The last part of this collection is the Mineralize Blush Duos. Mineralize blushes are very soft and shimmery blushes- maybe a little too soft and shimmery. They don’t have the staying power of Sheertone Blushes and some people find the shimmer to be over the top. However, the color combinations are beautiful. Sun & Moon may not be the first one that jumps out at you. In the compact, the copper and pink look very unassuming and possibly too orange. But when applied, the effect is a sun-kissed nude pink that looks very natural and pretty. Buddy Up is one of the less shimmery Mineralize Duos. The pink and plum blend together nicely to give your cheeks a soft berry color.

Too Fabulous is one of those collections that will keep you standing at the MAC counter for a long time trying to decide which colors you want. They are all so pretty and wearable that it will be tough to narrow it down.

Release Date: December 26th, 2004

The MAC High Tea Collection is packed full of new products. You’ll be able to glam up from head to toe in a sophisticated way. It has a little of something from nail color to mascara and everything in between.

I am a big fan of soft pink colors and this collection has plenty of them. The frosty pinks offer a soft elegant look, but if you want to make a bolder statement for the winter, there are plenty of reds and greens with a bit of gold, silver, and bronze.

I don’t always bother investing in nail polish, but I just might have to try the new Eccentrici-tea simply because the name is beyond clever, even for MAC. I can’t wait to see what a pink nail polish with green pearl accents will look like.

This collection has a lot to offer, maybe even a little too much. I personally like it when the collection is just a little more focused, but maybe that’s just because the big ones end up hurting my wallet too much! Anyhow review to complete product list to pick your favorites.

MAC: Adorn Collection

Release Date: October 21th, 2004

Adorn yourself with beauty and be adored with MAC’s new collection Adorn. It is packed full of products, many of which are limited edition. The pigments, mascara, lip pencils, and the lipglass color Courting Rose are the only products that aren’t limited edition.

I’ve never tried any of MAC’s Shimmersouffles, but they look interesting. They are described as a light glittery powder to offer a sparkle effect. I think it would be a fun product to try for the winter time to give just a hint of shimmer to your holiday fun. Of all of the products offered, the one luckiest to carry the collection name is a shimmersouffle. That might say something. “Adorn” is light beige tan with glitter. I just might have to try it out.

I am not usually drawn to the nail lacquers, but there is something about “Violet Femme” that makes me want to try it. Maybe it is just the fact that the name is so powerful. Or maybe it is the purple amethyst color it promises. Either way, I think I am sufficiently sold on it.

There are five different eyeshadows offered in this collection. Honestly, none of them look that great to me. The colors are deep brownish red, bright purple, light tan, light greenish blue, and off-white. Maybe some of the colors will work well for some of you, but they aren’t great options for me.

Overall, there seems to be a little something to please everyone. Take a look at all of the products being offered and pick out your favorites.
