Nicole Palermo has always had a fascination with makeup and making people feel special. She has been a makeup artist for 18 years, and worked for MAC for seven years. She has also worked for Estee Lauder, Nina Ricci and many spas in the Baltimore and D.C. areas. Nicole has done everything from print and fashion to boudoir sessions and more.
About seven years ago, Nicole started her own business, Happily Ever After LLC. Her makeup artistry is very much a part of the wedding industry. She does anywhere from 100-150 weddings a year (wow!). She absolutely loves being a part of each bride’s special day.
One of Nicole’s main skills as an artist is her outstanding use of color and blending. So, even though weddings usually incorporate more natural makeup looks, Nicole creates color looks that are absolutely adored by brides everywhere – even brides who love the most simple and natural makeup. Nicole really has a special talent for making color look fabulous.
Nicole is talented in so many different areas. She is involved in countless ventures where she uses her talents in a variety of ways – Boudoir sessions, jewelry design, skincare/bodycare, painting, and more (read more about her many projects below!) She even offers makeup lessons, spa parties, makeup parties for children, Girls night out parties, and makeup artistry for models seeking to add to their portfolios.
Born in San Pedro, California, Nicole now lives in Perry Hall, Maryland, where she has lived since the age of four. She is a city girl at heart. She has been married for ten years and has a darling seven year old little girl. “Makeup artistry has been a blessing in my life,” says Nicole. “This journey has been amazing.”
NICOLE’S PHILOSOPHY AS AN ARTIST
As women, I feel we pick ourselves apart from head to toe, yet we possess beauty in so many ways. I look at life as art and I am constantly trying to create innovative ideas to bring that art to life. When I work with women, I love being able to bring out beauty that they usually never see… highlight their features and collaborate with them in creating a look that embraces who they are. My goal is to make them look at themselves in a different way and to appreciate, themselves. Women make me feel good about what I do, they make it possible for me to be passionate about my career. I want us all to be able to feel better about ourselves, and admit that we are HOT sometimes! There are no rules to makeup only guidelines, no limitations. You must be open, and willing to explore everything. You will be amazed what you find, and what you learn about yourself.” – Nicole Palermo
Nicole draws her inspiration from all of the vintage starlets: Elizabeth Taylor, Bettie Page, Sophia Lauren, Jean Harlow, and of course Audrey Hepburn. She also adores pinups, Marilyn Monroe, Louis Icart (the artist that painted women and dogs – his work is to die for!) and Vargas.
In addition to makeup artistry, Nicole is now working with many women on a hot new craze – Boudoir Sessions – the creation of artistic pictures that can embrace the pinup girl in all of us! The images portray a more sensual side of a bride, and embrace who she is as a person. Many women are purchasing these sessions and then giving the pictures to their fiances as wedding presents. All pictures are tasteful and truly artistic. The shoots are tons of fun!
For the past six years, Nicole has also added jewelry design to her business. She works with her brides on creating bridal pieces for the bride as well as the entire wedding party. She also makes one of a kind pieces – both trendy and classic. She has a jewelry trunk show party once a month.
Skincare & Bodycare
During the past two years, Nicole has created her own all natural Skincare and Bodycare line, Porcelain Beauties. This spa line has just about every product you can imagine. The products are high quality, and contain only healthy organic ingredients. They don’t contain the harsh chemicals that many companies put in their products. Her products are never tested on animals. You must check them out! :) Her biggest seller is the Cinnamon and Brown Sugar Body Scrub and Moisturizer all in one.
As an artist, Nicole also paints children’s murals and other paintings. Anyone looking to do a little interior decorating for their home should check out her work!
