Consider Eyelash Extensions for Your Wedding Day

Lash extensions allow you to have long, gorgeous lashes – without the worry of your mascara running if you happen to get emotional on your special day. I used to look down on eyelash extensions because, honestly, I really liked my natural lashes and thought many of the sets of lash extensions looked fake. Nowadays, you can get lash extensions that look completely natural and blend with your real lashes.

I finally tried extensions last year. Let me tell you, I am absolutely sold. You can create just about any look you like. There are all sorts of lengths, shades, types and shapes. Just be sure to go to someone who has a lot of experience and can apply them correctly. And, for your bridal look, someone who can do more of a natural looking application. Also, we recommended you try them out a month or so before your wedding so you have time to get used to them beforehand.

Choose a Fool-proof Eye Liner

There are a number of eye liners that will look beautiful for your wedding day makeup look. The point here is to choose wisely. Many liners fade quickly or wash away easily with just a little moisture. You want a liner that won’t budge. Quite a few eye liner formulas that will do the trick. A waterproof liner may be a good option. Or, if you know of a liner you love that doesn’t run, that may be your best bet.

Our recommendation? MAC’s Liquidlast Liner is a lifesaver. It does require an oil-based makeup remover when you’re ready to take it off, but until then it stays put. It comes in a variety of shades. Our favorite is Point Black for a more classic look, or Coco Bar or Brassbeat for a more natural look. When I spend a day at the lake, I pair this MAC Liquidlast eye liner with lash extensions for an all day look that won’t wash away, even with a cannon ball into the water.

When your bridal makeup is the least of your worries, you can spend your energy on more important things, like debating with your mom regarding her potential mother of the bride outfits. And we all know, with many a mother, that is no easy task!

First ask yourself if there are any colors you can pull from your bridal bouquet or wedding centerpieces. For instance, if your flower arrangements contain a blend of oranges, pinks and corals, consider choosing from among those shades and using those colors as your blush and lip color. Determine whether your skin has warm or cool undertones. If you’re on the cooler side, choose a cool version of the shade you are considering. For instance, If you have warmer undertones to your skin, a coral shade may look best on you, whereas if you have cooler undertones, picking up on the pink shades in you bouquet might look best.

If your bridal bouquets have bolder colors like deep purples or reds, use minimal makeup to coordinate. For instance, if your main color is red, you may want to wear a classic red lipstick and then stick to simple makeup for your eyes and the rest of your look. Dark purple or navy can be used as an eye liner color if you want to pull out some of those types of shades.

But keep in mind that you can also simply compliment your wedding colors rather than coordinate with them. Use good judgment when deciding which way to go. A nice, neutral eyeshadow shade can often look more flattering and add just the right amount of glow to your look without requiring the use of specific colors. If your wedding colors can be worked into your look, go for it. If not, opt to compliment with neutrals and avoid clashing with your wedding colors.

Bridal makeup is an essential part of your wedding day look. If you can, you may want to schedule an appointment with a makeup artist at a department store makeup counter and bring in a few swatches of your wedding shades. The artist can help you evaluate potential makeup colors and assist you in choosing your final bridal makeup look.

Many of their devotees’ first foray into Dior was with their lip gloss. That’s because their glosses have an excellent reputation in the cosmetics world. Celebrities and fashion magazines alike sing its praises and with good reason.

Dior has been around forever but the first gloss that started getting a lot of press was Dior Addict. The Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Reflect is a shimmery gloss that is shiny without being sticky.
